PDF DELIVERY WORKFLOW

Remove a DRAFT watermark from PDF

Clean up a finalized PDF that still carries a DRAFT mark. ClearMark detects repeated text and other separable PDF objects, then lets you review the selection before export.

When this workflow helps

A DRAFT watermark can remain after a report, proposal, contract, or review copy is approved for external delivery. It is often a repeated text object, but it may also be part of a template layer or another page object. If the mark is tied to a document-generation status, correcting the source template is safer than editing the exported PDF.

How to remove a DRAFT watermark from a PDF

  1. Confirm that you own the file or have permission to remove the DRAFT mark.
  2. Sign in, choose the PDF, and wait for ClearMark to identify repeated candidates.
  3. Review the highlighted text, image, layer, or annotation and keep any uncertain item unselected.
  4. Use Safe removal first, then download the clean PDF.
  5. Open the export in a second PDF reader and check the pages, body text, signatures, and layout before sharing.

What if the DRAFT mark is not removable?

A mark embedded in a scanned page image is not an independent object. Removing its rectangle may also remove covered text or graphics, so ClearMark does not promise pixel restoration. Keep the original file and request a clean export from the document owner or return to the source template when possible.

Need to clean several final PDFs?

Use batch PDF watermark removal when the files share a repeated watermark pattern. Each file still needs a valid PDF, an authorized workflow, and a result check. Review page-based pricing before starting a paid batch.

DRAFT watermark FAQ

Can I remove a DRAFT watermark before sending a PDF to a client?

Yes, when you own the PDF or have explicit permission to edit it. Verify the final export before sending it and keep the original for comparison.

Why does Acrobat say it cannot find the watermark?

The mark may be a regular text or image object, a template layer, or pixels inside a scan rather than an Acrobat watermark object. The source template may be the best fix.
